BIO

Liubov is a European-based Russian painter and ceramic artist . 

In 2013 Liubov graduates magna cum laude from MFA degree at the Moscow Art Academy named after Surikov.

In 2012 she is invited as a teacher of painting and composition at the Art high school in Moscow and works there 2 years.

In 2014 she decides to enrich her background by attending a Master program at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan (Italy) choosing this time the contemporary direction.

In 2015 she becomes the member of International Association of Russian Artists.

From 2018 starts participating actively to several art exhibitions both in Russia and in Italy as an emerging contemporary painter.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am very curious about psychology, the levels of sensitivity and consciousness; emotions, doubts and emotional drops so my main goal in art is to increase the sensitivity of people to their internal states.

Mostly my paintings are about emotions and feelings like hope, love, logic or meanings of time and life. Since these are very abstract themes, then I often use semi-abstract solutions in paintings, using acrylic and oil colours.   
 
We are living in the moment of history that is fashionable to be socially active, international, to be informed on every topic, to live the lives and problems of others, to express opinions on everything that happens outside our lives. It is common to compare our life to those of others and always try to live up to the expectations of society. In all of these we forget to go back into our souls, thoughts, feelings, ask ourselves who and why are we really doing things for, we hide our personal problems, because we don’t really know how to deal with them, we don’t listen well to our desires and above all we don’t know how to accept our weak points, we always try to appear better or different from who we are.
Like activist do, I also sometimes ask for an action:  to go inside yourself, hear what you feel in the depth of your thoughts, reflect on joys and fears. Because we are physically alive thanks to the things that surround us, but we feel alive thanks to the feelings and emotions we experience.
 
Painting helps me to remember about my spiritual part, my values, it gives me time to reflect and constantly develop my sensibility.

FACTS ABOUT ME and my creative process

I’m very pleased that you’re reading these lines right now, cause it means you somehow got interested in my art. 

  • I’m not a type of artist that makes canvases in an instant night inspiration, but I live with each of my artworks at least for a few weeks or even months. They change, they grow, they ask me to understand them and require attention, feelings, studies, inventions.
  • I almost do not sketch: canvas always knows me better, so I trust and start creating directly on it. 
  • I love minimalism in art. It’s a crazy thing because I see the world in complicated way.
  • I have never been attracted to fashion particularly, yet I’ve been working in fashion industry for 8 years 
  • I don’t like to teach others, but to suggest, to make them believe in their decisions, to inspire, to motivate. 
  • I got into ceramics in 2021, and it immediately became my  passion 
  • I love making art. I couldn’t live without it
